In short
Custom tracksuits are manufactured from 10 sets per design, in polyester tricot, woven shell or cotton fleece, with your colours, panels, logos and labels. A sample takes about 10 days and bulk production 3–4 weeks. This guide covers fabric choices, design options, sizing a squad and how to place an order.
The short answer: custom tracksuits are made from 10 sets per design, with the best per-unit pricing from 20. You choose the fabric — polyester tricot for classic team warm-ups, woven shell for lightweight training wear, or cotton fleece for lifestyle sets — along with the colours, panels, piping, logos, names and labels. A physical sample takes about 10 days and bulk production 3–4 weeks after you approve it. Sizes can be mixed freely within the order, including youth sizes for clubs.
Which fabric should a tracksuit be made from?
| Fabric | Feel | Best for | Decoration that suits it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Polyester tricot | Smooth, slight sheen, some stretch, brushed inside | Team and club warm-ups, classic retro styles | Embroidery, screen print, heat transfer, sublimated panels |
| Polyester interlock | Soft, matte, stretchy | Training wear, slimmer modern fits | Sublimation, heat transfer |
| Woven shell (polyester or nylon) | Light, crisp, wind-resistant | Outdoor training, rain-shower layers, shell suits | Screen print, heat transfer, embroidery |
| Cotton or cotton-blend fleece | Soft, warm, casual | Lifestyle and streetwear sets, travel wear | Embroidery, screen and puff print |
| Velour | Plush, with a deep sheen | Fashion sets | Embroidery, appliqué |
For a sports team, tricot is the default: it is hard-wearing, dries quickly and holds colour through a season of washing. For a clothing brand, the choice is mostly about look — fleece sets and woven shell suits are the two most common. If you are considering fleece, read fleece vs French terry.
What can be customised?
- Colours — body, sleeves, side panels and trims, matched to your club or brand colours
- Panels and piping — contrast panels, shoulder and leg stripes, taping
- Jacket — full zip, quarter zip or pullover; stand collar or hood; zip pockets
- Trousers — tapered or straight leg; open hem, ribbed cuff or ankle zips; zip pockets
- Lining — unlined, mesh-lined or brushed
- Branding — chest and back logos, sleeve and leg logos, sponsor logos
- Personalisation — individual names, initials and squad numbers
- Labels and packaging — woven neck labels, care labels, hang tags, individual polybags
How are logos and names applied?
| Method | Looks like | Best used for |
|---|---|---|
| Embroidery | Raised, stitched, premium | Club crests and brand logos on the chest |
| Screen print | Flat, durable ink | Large back prints and sponsor logos |
| Heat transfer or DTF | Sharp, full-colour, thin film | Detailed multi-colour sponsor logos, names and numbers |
| Sublimation | Dyed into the fabric, no feel at all | All-over patterns and panels on polyester |
Many tracksuits combine methods: an embroidered crest, a printed sponsor and heat-applied initials. See sublimation vs screen printing vs embroidery and DTF vs DTG vs screen printing for the detail.
What is the minimum order?
10 sets per design, with sizes mixed however you need and the best per-unit pricing from 20 sets. A set is a jacket and trousers; jackets or trousers can also be ordered on their own. For a club, one design across the whole squad usually clears the minimum comfortably, and junior and senior sizes can be part of the same run.
How long does an order take?
| Stage | Time |
|---|---|
| Quote | Within 24 hours |
| Design mockup | A few days; free |
| Pre-production sample | About 10 days |
| Bulk production | 3–4 weeks after sample approval |
| Express delivery | 3–7 days worldwide |
Allow roughly seven to eight weeks from first enquiry to delivery on a first order. For a new season, start two to three months before you need the kit in hand. Reorders are quicker, because the pattern, colours and artwork are already on file.
How do you get sizing right for a whole squad?
- Ask for the size chart with body and garment measurements, before anyone chooses a size.
- Measure a garment that fits, laid flat, and compare it with the chart. It is more reliable than asking people what size they "usually" wear.
- Check the trouser inseam, particularly for tall players and juniors.
- Order a few spares in the most common sizes for new signings and replacements.
- Collect names and sizes in one spreadsheet, and send it as a single file.
What affects the price?
- Fabric — fleece and lined shells cost more than unlined tricot
- Design complexity — more panels and piping mean more cutting and sewing
- Decoration — number of logos, methods used and individual personalisation
- Quantity — unit price falls as the number of sets rises
- Packaging — individually named polybags and hang tags are optional extras
Your quote shows the price at several quantities, so you can see where the breaks are.
What do we need to quote?
- The fabric and style you have in mind, or a reference photo
- Your colours, as Pantone references if you have them
- Logo files, ideally vector
- Approximate quantity and size range
- Whether you need names or numbers
- Your deadline
